I am Healed!
by BSM
May our Lord’s peace be with you. In thanksgiving, I would like to share my experience about the grace I obtained recently. I attended the first Friday healing Mass at Mater Delarosa Church in San Francisco, CA last month. Being a choir member, I was just happy to help out with the mass. I did not have any special request or intention in mind to bring to the altar, until someone approached me and asked whether I had any prayer request. Well, I did have problems with migraine for at least five years. And I thought, why not? It was funny how I “overlooked” this condition in my prayers. I usually had a long prayer list, but somehow I consistently failed to remember to pray for my migraine. So I wrote down my prayer request for that intention. Later during the prayer of the faithful, Fr. Vito and the whole church prayed over the intention list of those who attended the Mass.
During the individual praying session, I was prayed over by Sr. Jacinta. Throughout the whole session, I smelled a sweet fragrant. It smelled like rose, but not quite the same. It was sweet, but not overpowering. I never smelled that scent before. I closed and opened my eyes a few times, and the scent lingered. The first thought that came to my mind was: “Oh-oh… I am imagining things…” However, instead of dismissing the sensation, I just prayed, “Lord, I do believe. I accept Your gift in Jesus’ name.”
Once the Sister finished praying over me, I asked her “Sister, what lotion did you use? It smells so nice and soft… Like rose but not quite the same.” Sister looked puzzled and started smelling her hands and said that she did not use any scented lotion. So I smiled and said “Amen and praise God” in my heart.
Long story short, a month has passed and I have never once experienced migraine since then. Before this, I usually had 1 to 2 migraine episodes per week. Those who have had any experience with migraine could tell you how troublesome it could be, and how it sometimes could impair your everyday activities.
He had given me the gift of healing. I am healed. He even knew what I needed before I knew what I needed, even when I did not realize how much I needed it. It was humbling to learn that I mattered to Him. The Lord cared for me and wanted me whole. He still does.
I also want to take the opportunity to thank COSJ priests and the Daughters of Carmel nuns. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus, and faithfully continue to spread the Good News.
In Christ,
