The Vision and Mission
The calling of the nuns of Daughters of Carmel and the brothers of CSE
can be summarized as follows:
"By the power of the Holy Spirit
to experience personally and to live
the loving and saving presence of God
in order
to reach the transforming union of love with Him
and to bring others to the same experience."

By the power of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the foundation and the source of everything. To personally experience and live the loving and saving presence of God and to bring others to the same experience can only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit which is channelled and expressed throughout His various gifts, sacraments and charisms.
The Transforming union on Love
Slowly but surely this saving presence of God, with no obstruction, can change and renew us, starting from our deepest inner lives to all of the layers of our beings. By the touch of God's graces, we are transformed, and we are divinized in such a way to become more like Him, just like a piece of wood that is thrown into the fire and eventually becoming the fire itself. Because of this transformation, all of our being and actions are divinized and all our inner and external actions will gain divine meanings. Even if only one person reaches this transforming union of love, he/she is more precious and useful for the world and the church compared to thousands and even millions others who never reach to this stage. This is the goal of Carmelites since the beginning and hopefully it can be ours.

Personally to experience and to live
Knowing God is not enough; we need to go deeper and have a personal experience. Even though we experience it by our faith, it has to be a real experience which becomes the source of our lives. We need to experience God personally before we can be His living witnesses.

The presence of God
God's presence is experienced as a loving, helping, protecting, nurturing, healing and saving presence. Therefore we can always hope and rely on His help.

Bringing others to the same experience
After we personally experience the saving presence of God, even though we have not yet arrived at the summit yet, we want to bring others to the same experience so that they may experience the abundant love comes from God. However, we do not want to merely give the living water, but we want to bring others to the source so that they themselves can drink abundantly. Then each one of us will be able "to love God with our whole hearts, with our souls, with our minds, with our strength and make Him be loved by many more people."
